Started with CLA in 2012. Began as chief of dispatch then started instructing in 2014

No specific long term goal, helps me enjoy the journey and not stress about the finish line

E-town born and raised
What is your educational background?
High school diploma, University Bachelor of Science Degree with a double major in physics and mathematics
Do you have a pre-flight ritual?
Silently contemplate every detail of the flight, takeoff to landing
What is your favorite plane to fly and why?
I like the G1000 but i really like flying FORE
What are your hobbies?
Camping, Swimming, Archery, adding bacon to everything
If you could travel anywhere and fly, where would it be?
Would love to fly a float plane in a tropical location
How many of your relatives have flown with you over the years?
Everyone but my mother, she’s too chicken
What inspired you to start flying?
I think it was always going to be part of my life, i cannot imagine what else i would do
When did you obtain your first pilot’s license?
PPL completed in 2010
What does being a pilot mean to you?
Self actualization, the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
What is a fact that most people wouldn’t know about you?
HUGE nerd, ask me about Star Trek
What is the flight moment you will never forget?
Radio failure second solo flight on short final without clearance to land at CYXD. that sucked.

Is there a unique plane you have had the opportunity to fly?
Farthest or Most Enjoyable destination you have flown to yourself ?
I was lucky to do some flight training in Edmonton city center airport before it closed. Its extremely rare to see an airport that close to heart of downtown
What is one exciting opportunity that has arisen through flying?
Flew to a Camrose air show where to Snowbirds were performing. Ii had unrestricted access to the airport including the Snowbirds pilots and planes. I watched the show from the top the fuel tanker truck the snow birds used. Best seats in the house.
What is your favorite lesson to teach as an instructor?
Forced Approach. Just when the student thinks he’s good, BOOM engine failure!
